Student accommodation:
All new international students are guaranteed accommodation and pick-up service, provided that they apply for accommodation correctly and announce their arrival in due time.
App. Cost of living:
Cost of living per month including food, accommodation, transport, literature): Approximately 8000 s.kr.
- A meal in the Hospital or School canteen 85-100 s.kr.
- A lunch in a restaurant 120 s.kr.
- A beer in a restaurant 70 s.kr.
- A liter of milk in a supermarket 15 s.kr.
- A cup of coffee in a restaurant 45 s.kr.

Your personal belongings, working shoes, padlock for your closet in clinic, computer etc.
Travel information:
You get to Jönköping by flight to Landvetter, Gothenburg Airport, which is the closest airport. From there you go by buss ti Jönköping. (FlixBus or Swebus to be prebooked) It is also possible to travel by flight to Kastrup, Copenhagen Airport from where you can go by train to Jönköping. From Arlanda, Stockholm Airport you can choose to go by either train or bus.
The railway-station and buss-station is situated in the city-center of Jönköping.
The School of Health and Welfare is situated in the City-center. Distance between the school and the County Hospital is 5 km and buses depart app. every 15 minutes from the City-center. Monthly ticket, for you as a student, can be purchased for 510 s.kr. for use within the City-center.
Information about clinical placement:
Three Hospitals are situated within the County of Jönköping: The County-hospital of Jönköping, Värnamo Hospital and Eksjö Hospital. All of those Hospitals have a modern Radiology Department containing CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography and emergency. Angiography is only available in Jönköping.
As a student enrolled in the Erasmus Radiography Programme, you will do practical training in the University and 4 weeks of clinical placement, including a variety of specialities. During that time you will be provided with working-clothes and a nametag, but you need to bring your own working-shoes.
Medical certificate and insurance:
Medical certificate of health condition is required, including the statement of you as a student not being a carrier of MRSA.
You are also required to bring a personal Certificate of regime of Health Protection in Europe. Health care is free of charge for students holding this card.
Travel insurance is the student’s responsibility.
Radiation monitoring:
The Radiology Departments within the County of Jönköping operate according to ALARA and do not equip staff with radiation monitoring. This is the responsibility of your home Institution, if required.
